Dear heavens. Your lack of knowledge is boundless.
As is your ego.

I'm chuckling that you, at roughly 13 years old, can say Al Gore doesn't know what he's talking about.

In your "Manly" thread, I suggested you might become a doctor.
I take that back.
But you can join the military, or perhaps become a firefighter or policeman.

For goodness' sake! There are plenty of opportunities for a man to fight battles in this world.

We are currently engaged in two wars, in Iraq and Afghanistan. Certainly men are leading armies in those places. I believe all men of legal age in good mental and physical health can enlist in a branch of the military and do battle.

One can also become an aid worker, doing battle against poverty, disease and hopelessness here and around the world. Teaching and helping people to build self-sustaining, strong communities and families. Overcoming famine. Drought. Pestilence.
(Probably as close as you're going to get to dragons. Really. Sorry.)

In the same vein, become a doctor and save lives in oh, so many ways.

Firefighters are heroes. They save damsels in distress all the time. As do the police. Teachers fight the scourge of ignorance.

The world is full of opportunities for men of action, who choose not to sit watching commercials for cleaning products (taking them way too seriously). Men who make the choice not to be afraid. Not to be sheep. Not to be told who they are by an outside source. If you want to forage for your food, you can do that. Nobody makes you go to the Stop&Shop or McDonald's. Get yourself a bow and arrow, a fishing line and (very important) a guide to edible plants and then hie thee to the woods.

There are more than enough enemies to slay -- there just aren't any dragons, orcs, goblins and the like.

But then, there never were.

is your name really Jo March??

Yes, I know there is equal blame to spread for the downfall of mankind, though I don't really want to blame anyone so much as just fix the problem. so how do we do it? in physical terms? (you know what I mean right? we will obviously pray about it too.)

but maybe you have more posts on it already...
